Gheorghe's work is grounded in a simple principle: engineering must be technically rigorous, proportionate to risk, and practical to implement. He brings operational context to complex studies and helps multidisciplinary teams turn assumptions, data, and design constraints into clear decisions.
After a long international career in mining, he retired from BCIT in May 2025 and continues to contribute through teaching, technical advisory work, professional service, and mentoring.

As a faculty member and former department head at BCIT, Gheorghe translated decades of mining practice into rigorous, application-led education. His course development spans mining engineering, geotechnics, rock mechanics, drilling and blasting, and mine design.
He has also volunteered with Engineers and Geoscientists BC's mentoring program for nearly a decade, supporting the next generation of engineering professionals.
He also serves as a member of EGBC's Registration Interview Panel.
